How Our Therapy Works

We hear your unique story

Our initial sessions will focus on getting to know you, working to understand what brings you to therapy, identifying your current circumstances, and then doing a general assessment.

We create an individualized plan

We collaborate with you to identify your needs, develop goals and define the outcomes that you are hoping for. Then we create an individualized plan utilizing various tools and resources, to get you moving towards better days.

We do the work to heal and grow

As we move through the subsequent counseling sessions, we always invite feedback and make adjustments based on your response and unique personality. It is always an honor to walk with you on this journey to emotional wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept insurance.

We are currently in-network with: Highmark BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna and Cigna.

For all other insurance companies, we can send you a super bill for reimbursement purposes.

We ask that you cancel your appointment 24-hours in advance. If not, you will be charged the full cash rate.. This is not covered by insurance.

Unless there is an imminent danger to yourself or to someone else, everything you share with us is completely confidential. Your privacy and trust in the relationship with your therapist is of utmost importance.

For further questions on how confidentiality works, you can ask during your free phone consultation or anytime during our work together.

At Better Days, we offer a free 20-minute consultation appointment to see whether the therapist is a good fit for you. You can ask any questions you may have and sense if you have a good connection with that therapist.

Each individual counseling session is 50 minutes long.

The amount of sessions and long-term duration of therapy is dependent on your personal goals and the work you are doing. We encourage you to talk to your counselor about your progress in therapy, and any other concerns you might have.

Before you start your journey to mental and emotional wellbeing, let’s have an initial phone conversation to establish what it is that you are wanting to accomplish in counseling. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions from us and to get a sense about whether or not you’d like to work with us. This will be at no charge to you, and will take approximately 20 minutes.

Better Days offers in-person counseling in Pittsburgh, PA. We are also available for virtual counseling across all of Pennsylvania and Texas.
